Child Therapy
Play provides a safe psychological distance from a child’s problems and allows the expression of thoughts and feelings. Through play therapy, clients can learn to express emotions, resolve problems, and develop healthy ways of relating to others. It is also a great way to teach focus and skill building in a fun and relaxed manner. I use play-based therapeutic techniques to engage children in a comfortable and supportive environment, allowing them the space to explore their emotions and develop lasting coping strategies.
Teen Therapy
Life is already complicated during adolescence and the addition of technology, social media, and peer pressure often intensifies this life stage. I work collaboratively with teenagers to help them build self-confidence, emotional intelligence and resiliency. By fostering a trusting relationship and open communication with our teen clients, I allow space for the development of self-regulation and healthy relationships. During therapy, teens will feel empowered by learning the tools necessary to navigate the challenges they encounter during this transitional life stage.
Individual Therapy
Life isn't always rainbows and butterflies, there are lots of challenges too. Sometimes life gets overwhelming and you become consumed with anxiety or depression, or you just feel stuck. No matter how far down the rabbit hole you have fallen, there is a way out. Know that things can improve even if you can't see the path forward. You have the power to initiate change in your life and find meaning, hope, and purpose again. Therapy is a place for you to explore your relationships, thoughts, feelings, reactions, and behaviors. You will learn skills for handling tough situations, making healthy decisions, and reaching your goals. My goal is for you to become more self-aware and learn to be mindful and present in your life so you can live the life you truly deserve.
Family Therapy
The psychological health of a family is paramount. Families are complex, and there are many things that can create an immense amount of strain on a family. I provide a safe and neutral space for family members to address areas of concern and express their thoughts and emotions. Throughout therapy, families will learn better communication patterns, improved coping skills, and healthier ways to problem solve and set boundaries. This knowledge will guide you in making the positive changes you are seeking within your family all while strengthening bonds and creating connection. I will get you back to a family who enjoys spending time together again while creating lasting memories.
Being a parent can be so rewarding, but also so incredibly challenging. It can feel like we receive little guidance and support in handling the daily emotional and behavioral challenges of typical parenthood. The demands of everyday life may make it challenging to manage your child’s difficulties or to focus intentionally on your relationship with your child. I aim to empower parents and caregivers with effective tools and strategies to navigate the complexities of raising children all while building a nurturing and supportive environment for their children. At the end of our sessions, you will have the confidence to be a consistent and intentional parent who is able to consistently set boundaries, implement discipline, handle challenging behaviors, and promote positive parent-child interactions.
